Where's "Ground Zero" for Insurance Innovation? It Could be Anywhere

Innovation is the watchword in the insurance industry, and I've been fortunate enough to be able to go to some of the places where it's happening. I met with a startup only a few miles from my Brooklyn apartment, and took a trip up to MassMutual's data science lab in the leafy college town of Amherst, Mass.

As I take a look at my calendar and the myriad options I have to check out other places where insurance innovation is happening, it occurred to me: There's so much going on, it's difficult to choose! Whether it's innovation labs or startup incubators or just solid IT work, insurance companies are making a ton of progress in adapting to the digital world. That's why I'm so excited for our inaugural DIG|IN event, six weeks from today in Austin, Texas -- where the key conference for the digital age, South by Southwest, just wrapped up.

We've got so many great speakers coming, including representatives from big insurers like USAA and Farmers, who will show how the establishment is breaking the mold; and the upstarts from the startup community who believe their new approaches will really change the game. In between, we'll get to hear from established innovators like Tesla that will talk about where insurance fits in an increasingly digital world.

We're hearing more than ever from you on social media and in the comment section here on these digital topics. So register to dig in with us in Austin -- I'm looking forward to meeting our readers who are so focused on digital excellence.
