USAA hires chief strategy officer from Truist Bank

USAA has hired Ameesh Vakharia as executive vice president and chief strategy officer.

Vakharia’s role entails strengthening the association’s strategic capabilities. He reports to USAA CEO Wayne Peacock. Prior to joining USAA, Vakharia was executive vice president of retail strategy, products and omnichannel experiences at Truist Bank.

"His deep experience in financial services will help us as we advance our mission to serve military families well into our second century. His leadership acumen and focus on service to members and employees further enhances our commitment to USAA's strong culture."

Before Truist Bank, Vakharia worked as an associate principal at McKinsey & Company.
