Travelers inks Kittyhawk to power drone program

Travelers has invested in and partnered with Kittyhawk, an enterprise drone operations software company, to power its drone prorgam.

Travelers has nearly 600 FAA-certified drone pilots employed as claim professionals, first using the technology after Hurricane Matthew in 2016. The drone program will now be supported by Kittyhawk, which will provide Travelers streaming data, hardware and software into one single record.

"Kittyhawk helps us manage the vast amounts of information we gather on inspections so we can help our customers recover from disasters faster than ever before. We continue to leverage new technologies in our business, including within our drone program, and we are pleased to further our relationship with Kittyhawk,” says Nick Seminara, EVP of claims services for Travelers.

Previously, Travelers had leaned on multiple apps and license agreements, to support procedures and data security.

"Using drones to assess property damage enables us to enhance our customers' experience, adjust claims more quickly and efficiently and improve safety for our employees and vendors," Seminara adds.
