TransUnion has launched a product called National Driving Record for insurers with the goal of offering unified, quick access to several data sources of interest to insurers.

The product combines the company's existing DriverRisk court-records database with state motor vehicle reports. Traditionally, insurers have had to request MVRs separately from DriverRisk reports. The new offering provides insight into:
- Convictions from a prior state or different driver's license
- Convictions while driving out of state
- Active tickets
"This now allows us to a much broader and comprehensive search of history across multiple states, and the ability get visibility into things that might change for a driver," says Mark McElroy, EVP and head of TransUnion’s insurance business unit.
