Toyota and Lexus drivers have access to a new post-collision feature that can help drivers through the repair and insurance claim process.
Toyota worked with CCC Intelligent Solutions, a SaaS platform for property and casualty insurance, to develop Collision Assistance. The feature, which is available in the Toyota and Lexus’ owners app, prompts drivers through accident documentation, access to claims and management services.
Marc Fredman, chief strategy officer at CCC, said the company is proud to collaborate with Toyota to improve the experience for drivers.
“Telematics and mobile technology converge to provide support in the moments following an accident, providing direct access to insurers and repair facilities and support when drivers need it most,” Fredman said. “Toyota Collision Assistance leverages CCC technology to empower consumers, turning a once reactive event into a proactive streamlined path forward.”
Collision Assistance is an extension of the Safety Connect features available to Toyota and Lexus drivers with an active subscription.
“The ability to capture crucial information in real-time and immediately share that information will enable carriers to make faster and more accurate decisions,” Fredman said. “Hundreds of millions of days elapse every year between the time auto claims are created and when they are closed. These are days consumers don’t have their cars to pick kids up from daycare or go to a doctor’s appointment. Collision Assistance digitizes the claims process and helps make the complex, simple.”
