The Co-operators Group, a Canadian multi-product insurer, has expanded its relationship with Guidewire Software selecting the vendor’s Quote and Buy Portal, the companies announced Thursday.
“One of our key strategic pillars is to offer a seamless, omni-channel experience to our customers,” said Carol Poulsen, EVP and chief information officer of The Co-operators, in a statement. “We will be able to offer more online services much more quickly than other options, with a partner we already know and trust.”

As part of the agreement, Co-operators will also adopt Guidewire’s Account Management Portal and “Live” apps, including hail forensics technology to understand the impact of past weather events and help triage catastrophes as they occur.
The Guelph, Ontario-based insurer plans to revamp current P&C line customer portals with Guidewire’s software, it says. Implementation will begin with claims functionality, followed by account management and billing, according to the vendor. Ernst & Young, a Guidewire PartnerConnect consulting member, will aid in the installation.
