CoreLogic: How many properties were impacted by the LA wildfires?

The Los Angeles' Palisades and Eaton wildfires are now fully contained as of the end of January, and CoreLogic estimates initial property losses between $35 billion and $45 billion.

According to CoreLogic data, more than 23,000 acres burned in the Palisades, 14,000 burned acres in Eaton and just over 10,000 acres were impacted in Hughes. The Palisades fire impacted 8,696 properties within the major fire perimeters, and the Eaton fire impacted 7,940 properties.

Digital Insurance used CoreLogic data to provide the following figure, which reveals the number of properties impacted, by damage category, within the Palisades and Eaton perimeters. The data is accurate as of Jan. 23, 2025.
