MetroMile has launched a free mobile app for iOS devices that provides MetroMile drivers with analytics and insights about their cars and driving data. The app is designed with a feature that tracks daily commutes, fuel efficiency and engine diagnostics.
Metromile is also providing free Metronome devices, which capture data from the car and transmits wirelessly to the MetroMile platform, on its website to drivers in designated areas. The Metronome has an integrated cellular modem and GPS, according to the company. The device is designed so that drivers plug the Metronome into their cars’ diagnostic ports under the dashboards, and it is immediately connected.
Once connected, says MetroMile, users can download the MetroMile app to access valuable driving analytics and insights. MetroMile is applying its technology and predictive modeling to help drivers reduce the costs of gas and maintenance.
In addition, after previously being available only in Oregon, the company expanded its service into the state of Washington.
