In an effort to feature more insurtechs, Digital Insurance has modified the format of our Meet the insurtech series.
Dr. Parag Khanna, the founder and CEO, shared responses. They have been lightly edited for clarity.

What is the company's origin story?
Dr. Parag Khanna founded AlphaGeo in 2022 following the release of his book MOVE: Where People are Going for a Better Future (Simon & Schuster, 2021) to apply data science in predicting investment and migration patterns amid global disruptions such as COVID-19 and climate change. The inspiration stemmed from his own experience scouring through dozens of data sources to find an appropriate place for his parents to retire and wishing there was a single app to filter and sort important data to guide relocation decisions.
When was it founded and/or when was the product launched?
AlphaGeo was founded in Singapore and deployed its custom software interface in 2022.
Can you tell me about the founders/founding team?
Beyond Dr. Parag Khanna, AlphaGeo's first long-term employee hired was CTO Abraham Wu from the Future Cities Lab at the National University of Singapore. They were joined by Dr. Michael Ferrari, who is chief scientist and chief investment officer.

What pain points is the technology trying to solve?
Investors and asset managers are struggling with the overwhelming complexity of pricing in market trends, geopolitics, demographics, climate and other disruptions simultaneously and predicting how these play out across real-world locations.
AlphaGeo is a toolkit to model this complexity and derive tangible suggestions for where to invest, with a focus on resilient investing that accounts for long-term stability in dynamic and uncertain environments.
