Life insurer Lincoln Financial has created a new mobile platform to give customers a faster and simpler experience to access lab results.
The company teamed up with Clinical Reference Laboratory (CRL) for the platform, which integrates Lincoln's life insurance underwriting lab reports with the AccessMyLab app from CRL. Users can review, share and act and health records collected during the underwriting process on their phones.
“Life insurance applicants may be accustomed to receiving their lab results as part of the underwriting process, but Lincoln is taking that to the next level with CRL, and modernizing the engagement and reporting experience," says Heather Milligan, senior vice president for Life Underwriting & New Business, Lincoln Financial Group. "This industry-first, mobile experience, not only delivers the information more conveniently, but also provides customers actionable insights about their health and wellbeing, underscoring Lincoln’s commitment to advancing life insurance processes in order to meet the needs and changing expectations of our customers.”
The progra includes text messaging features that notify users of available results, provide definitions of results, ways to improve cholesterol, tips for wellness improvement, and a downloadable option with report sharing to medical providers and family.
“Previously, customers had to proactively check for their lab results gathered during the underwriting process, without a clear indication of when they would be ready,” said Brian Coens, vice president, Insurer Services, Clinical Reference Laboratory, Inc. "CRL is excited to first offer these new capabilities to Lincoln applicants.” says Coens.
