Kemper Corporation has announced the appointment of Kan Yuk “Andy” Lau as senior vice president and chief data and analytics officer.
Lau most recently served as vice president, analytics for CNA Insurance Company’s enterprise data and analytics. Before that, he was the vice president and product manager for Liberty International’s Great Britain operations in London. He has also worked for the Regional Companies Group at Liberty Mutual and The Hartford Financial Services Group, as well as serving in actuarial, research, and development roles for Allstate.
“Andy’s strong analytic leadership and depth of insurance knowledge bring an expertise to Kemper that will allow us to consolidate and build capabilities focused on sound analytics,” said Joseph P. Lacher, Jr., president and CEO of Kemper. “He will drive change as we evolve into a more data-driven business. I welcome Andy to the team and look forward to his contributions.”
In his new role with the Chicago-based insurer, Lau will report directly to Lacher. Kemper is hoping the appointment of Lau will position the company for long term success when it comes to analytics.
