Two insurtech companies have added executives from other startups as the sector’s maturation leads to more mobility in positions.
TheGuarantors, which operates in the real-estate risk space, has announced Sean O’Donoghue as its new COO. O’Donoghue last worked at Trov, an insurtech that has been providing per-item insurance for several years; he joins TheGuarantors a year after the launch of its Securiti product.
"TheGuarantors has established itself as an innovative and execution-oriented player at the cross-section of Real Estate, FinTech and InsurTech. It's an exceptionally strong team, with a wealth of knowledge and new ideas, and I look forward to helping the company thrive and expand,” he said.
In addition, ODN, a company using data to identify the most dangerous locations for driving, has hired Lanaya Nelson to lead its newly formed Customer Engagement and Marketing group. Nelson last worked at the Lift Factor, an insurance industry focused advisory firm, and was a program director for startups at Upward Hartford.
“She will play a key role in setting the stage for the next era of insurance and risk measurement,” says Carey Ann Nadeau, CEO of ODN.
