Geico to expand business in Florida and Texas

GEICO is expanding its presence in Florida and Texas. 

The plan for Tampa, Florida includes hiring over 1,000 new employees. GEICO will also expand in North Texas with the opening of a second building in Richardson and plans to hire over 1,000 new employees. 

Angela Rinella, SVP at GEICO, said in a statement: "As Florida's second-largest auto insurer and the third largest in the United States, we are thrilled to expand our footprint in the Sunshine State. Tampa's robust talent pool and dynamic business environment make it the ideal location for our newest office, allowing us to better serve our growing customer base with various insurance products while creating significant employment opportunities in the region."

Career opportunities at the new Tampa location will include sales, service and claims positions. There will be leadership development opportunities. Recruitment will begin in April. The company will occupy a three-building campus near Tampa International Airport this summer.

In Texas, GEICO is scheduled to move into a new building in the fall. This news comes months after it announced plans to hire 500 new people in December 2024. 

GEICO Senior Vice President Melissa Gallaro, said in a statement: "The outstanding talent pool in North Texas has been instrumental in driving GEICO's success and we are thrilled to expand our presence in Richardson. The skilled workforce in the region has enabled us to achieve significant growth while creating valuable career opportunities for the local community."
