Farmers Insurance has deployed a virtual reality claims training program for the professionals it trains each year.
The VR training module features randomized house generation, more than 500 damage combinations, difficulty settings for new and experienced claims representatives and instant replays for trainees to record and review their sessions. It allows the multiline insurer to train claims pros at more locations than just its California Farmers University.
"Technology has gotten to a point where we can better prepare our claims representatives for real-world scenarios before they actually deploy into the field, equipping them to deliver an even better experience for our customers," says Keith Daly, Farmers chief claims officer. "An experienced team of property claims employees helped to ensure the VR training met the technical and experiential needs of our claims representatives."
Farmers trains about 300 professionals each year, with courses running about three weeks.
