Allianz Life Ventures partners with insurtech venture fund

Allianz Life Ventures has partnered with SixThirty, an insurtech- and fintech-focused venture fund.

Under the terms of the partnership, Allianz Life Ventures will mentor companies in SixThirty's portfolio, assisting with strategic planning and offering expertise, resources and partnerships to those startups. Brian Muench, VP of investment management at Allianz Life, will join the organization’s investment committee, which selects portfolio firms.

“With this partnership, we are excited to be able to mentor some of the most forward-thinking startups in the industry and help them overcome their unique challenges in order to grow and meet their goals,” said Emily Reitan, VP of strategy and business development, Allianz Life. “SixThirty’s diverse pipeline of FinTech and InsurTech startups will allow us to build strategic relationships and further drive innovation in the industry.”

This is the second major insurtech announcement from Allianz Life Ventures this year. In November, it and another carrier, Securian, entered an agreement with the OnRamp insurance accelerator and conference to relocate it to the insurers' home city of Minneapolis.
