Travelers' Northland Insurance launches telematics: Insurtech news

The Travelers Companies, Northland Insurance, a trucking insurance company, announced the launch of a telematics program, a cargo theft reporting tool and safety and risk resources.

The telematics program will include real-time performance data and may include a premium-discount or device subsidy.

Donato Monaco, president of Northland Insurance, said in a statement: "These solutions are the latest in a long line of products and services designed to help our customers improve driver safety and reduce costs. We'll continue to create innovative insurance solutions to distinguish Northland in the marketplace."
Amazon selected Clara Analytics for a new program to improve claim outcomes for corporate workers' compensation claims.

The Clara AI platform detects claims at risk of escalation to identify the best path forward to resolution.

Betterview will be integrating Eagleview's aerial imagery into the Betterview property intelligence platform.

"At Betterview we are continuously looking for ways to improve our customer's ability to accurately assess property risk," said David Lyman, chief executive officer and co-founder of Betterview, in a press release statement. "EagleView's extensive, 20-year library of high-quality aerial imagery paired with our AI-powered property insights greatly expand our customers' total understanding of property risk, both pre- and post-claim."

The data provided by Eagleview will enable Betterview underwriters and claims professionals to more accurately assess total property risk, with high-resolution property imagery from 94% of the US population, AI detection of property conditions and predictive risk scores, and predictive and rapid natural catastrophe assessments and imagery. Eagleview customers will also receive access to Betterview data, including property insights and scores.
Embroker announced partnerships with Dashlane, a password manager and digital wallet app, and with Cowbell, a cyber insurance provider, to enhance customer security. Embroker customers will be protected through Dashlane's proactive cyber security services, which include Dashlane's password management system and monitoring of potential breaches.

The partnership with Cowbell will expand Embroker's coverage with Cowbell's cyber liability product, which will provide a rapid customer-centric buying experience.

Insurtech Next Insurance is launching commercial umbrella/excess liability insurance in 41 states and expanding its liquor liability coverage in seven more states.

Next is launching the expansion of the commercial umbrella/excess liability insurance coverage on a direct and agents channel. Using this channel, customers will be able to add this coverage to their policies.

"We're launching umbrella/excess liability coverage to help entrepreneurs thrive," said Jack Ramsey, vice president of agent business at Next Insurance. "As businesses grow, their liability insurance needs change, and as a carrier, we want to make sure we're able to continue to support our customers' growth."

The states where Next is expanding liquor liability coverage are Illinois, Michigan, Massachusetts, Missouri, Minnesota, Utah, and Iowa. This coverage is for losses resulting from intoxication of customers, and is designed for small businesses such as cafes, diners and restaurants.
