MetLife names Shurawl Sibblies as chief human resources officer

MetLife announced Shurawl Sibblies as executive vice president and chief human resources officer. Sibblies will start the position in August. Sibblies was previously at American Express, where she was executive vice president and colleague strategic partner. She also was senior vice president and human resources business partner for MetLife's U.S. business and global employee benefits and investments teams.

President and CEO Michel Khalaf, said in a statement: "Shurawl will build on our progress to foster a purpose-driven, inclusive culture that attracts, develops, engages and retains world-class talent. With her exceptional track record of developing high-performing teams globally, Shurawl is well positioned to continue to empower our people for the future and make a difference in the lives of our customers and the communities we serve. I'm pleased to welcome her back to MetLife."

Jamie Carsey named chief claims officer at Markel Specialty

Markel announced Jamie Carsey as chief claims officer. She will oversee U.S. and Bermuda claims operations within the Specialty division. Carsey joined the company in 2017 and was most recently the senior managing director, claims, legal and head of litigation. 

Alex Martin, president, Markel Specialty, said in a statement: "Jamie Carsey brings extensive experience, knowledge and leadership that will be instrumental in continuing to strengthen our claims operations alongside enhancing our risk management, compliance, technology and data efforts."

CSAA names Katherine Evans as EVP and chief legal officer

CSAA, a AAA insurer, named Katherine Evans as its executive vice president and chief legal officer to provide legal, regulatory and compliance oversight for the company. Evans was named interim chief legal officer last year and before that served as vice president of regulatory and government affairs. 

President and CEO, Mike Zukerman, said in a statement: "Katie brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership in her previous role as interim chief legal officer. We are thrilled to have her continue in this role and her expertise will be invaluable as we navigate the complexities of our industry. We are confident that Katie's vision and insight will be instrumental in driving our company forward."

Neptune Flood promotes Matt Duffy to managing director and chief risk officer

Neptune Flood announced the promotion of Matt Duffy to managing director and chief risk officer. Duffy has been with the company for three years as chief risk officer, where he has overseen data science operations, capacity management and integration of artificial intelligence into risk underwriting. Neptune recently acquired Charles River Data, a data science consulting firm. 

Trevor Burgess, Neptune's president and CEO, said in a statement: "Matt's promotion to managing director reflects his significant contributions and our confidence in his leadership abilities. His expertise in risk management and technology has been instrumental in advancing our capabilities and positioning Neptune at the forefront of innovation in the flood insurance industry. We are excited to see Matt take on this new role and continue to drive our mission forward."

Argo Group appoints new SVP, head of professional liability

Argo Group announced John Lecci as senior vice president, head of professional liability. Lecci joins the company from Markel, where he was senior director of U.S. professional E&O.

Steven Boughal, head of Argo Group's professional lines, said in a statement: "John's proven track record and expertise in professional liability and financial services make him a valuable addition to our team. We are excited to welcome him and are confident his leadership will further strengthen our capabilities and client relationships at Argo."

PennMutual expands leadership

PennMutual Life Insurance announced several leadership changes. Stephen Kennedy as chief operating officer. Kennedy, who joins from Thrivent, will lead operations including service and underwriting. Jennifer Dorfmeister has been promoted to chief distribution officer. Heather Nagengast was promoted to the enterprise leadership team as president of 1847Financial.

Hoden Re announces chairman, global clients strategy

Howden Re, the reinsurance arm of Howden, announced David Hearn as chairman, global clients strategy. Hearn was most recently EVP at Guy Carpenter and previously served at Willis Re from 1994 to 2015. Hearn will support leadership and client service teams with risk and strategic advisory.
