MetLife hires BoA exec for ops position: People moves

Donna Carr, MetLife

MetLife has hired Donna Carr as Head of U.S. Group Service and Operations, effective May 16. Carr will lead call center and operations for U.S. Group Benefits including dental, disability and life. She is also tasked with tech and data transformation efforts. Carr had been responsible for global credit servicing and operations at Bank of America. She also has worked at Wells Fargo, Edward Jones and E-Trade Financial. In her new role, she reports to Merrilee Matchett, Head of Global Customer Service & Operations.

"Donna is the latest addition to the talented professionals at MetLife who are helping bring these goals to life."

Abel Travis, Brotherhood Mutual

Abel Travis has joined Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company as SVP of affiliate operations. Travis will be responsible for leading the company's agency enterprises operationally and strategically, and will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for MinistryWorks, the company's payroll services and HR solutions arm. Travis had been VP and head of Fundamental Underwriters, a unit of AF Group. He also has worked at The Hanover Insurance Group, Chubb, and Travelers.

Steve Mikano, Great American

Steve Mikano has joined Great American Insurance Group's accident and health division, branded pomi, as divisional VP of claims. In his position he will work with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to improve and streamline processes, enhance digital capabilities and manage customer service. "Steve...brings a wealth of knowledge and will help us shape and improve our claims operations to better service our agents and insureds to make their lives easier," said Jim Slate, Divisional President, in a statement.
