CUNA Mutual, Otonomo/The Floow, Sensa: Insurtech partnership roundup

CUNA Mutual will roll out digital estate-planning capabilities using a platform from OneDigitalTrust, the companies announced via press release. The SaaS-based tool can be added to customer-facing platforms to guide customers through probate exposure, trust funding, life changes, and document preservation. CUNA Mutual has 2 million customers in its funeral insurance and final expense business, which it acquired from Assurant last year.
Otonomo Technologies, an Israel-based fleet management technology provider, has acquired The Floow, a UK-based usage-based insurance tech provider, the companies announced via news release. The cash and stock deal is valued at $69 million. The Floow's clients include Munich Re and Transunion. “Together, we believe Otonomo and The Floow will create the opportunity for both OEMs and insurance companies to accelerate the utilization of their data, create new products, improve customer experiences and accelerate business transformation,” said Ben Volkow, CEO of Otonomo, in the statement.
Descartes Underwriting, an insurtech MGA that provides parametric coverage for businesses, has partnered with Reask, the companies said in a release. Reask provides tropical cyclone risk analytics; Descartes says this will help it provide coverage for these risks in its parametric model.
Surer, a Singapore-based insurtech, has partnered with Markel and Windward Insurance Brokers to offer professional indemnity insurance to accountants in Singapore. Surer provides a platform for linking insurance providers and intermediaries with customers, the company says.
Sensa, a recently launched auto-insurance insurtech focusing on the claims experience, has partnered with Incline P&C Group, the companies announced jointly. Sensa will act as an MGA. Its product leverages deployment of a proprietary sensor to detect and respond proactively to accidents as quickly as possible. "We are excited to welcome Sensa onto the Incline P&C's carrier platform," said Chris McClellan, President, and CEO, Incline P&C Group, in a statement. "Sensa provides exceptional industry and coverage expertise, and we are thrilled to assist in bringing their depth of transportation insurance offerings available to American drivers.”
