Spot Pet Insurance recently ranked the 10 most and least expensive dog breeds to insure. Some dog breeds may have higher insurance premiums because they are more genetically susceptible to certain health conditions, or premiums may vary because of a dog's size.

The most expensive breed to insure is the Cane Corso, which according to the American Kennel Club often weighs more than 100 pounds. The least expensive breed to insure, the Chihuahua, usually weighs less than six pounds according to the American Kennel Club.
