Dan Reed is Managing Director at American Family Ventures, the company’s venture capital arm. Dan has worked as a strategy consultant with the Boston Consulting Group and in various strategic roles at American Family. He has experience as a principal in two start-up companies. Additionally, his work history includes hospital administration at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and a career as a professional baseball player with the Baltimore Orioles. Dan holds an MBA with a concentration in strategic management from the University of Chicago and an undergraduate degree from Stanford University.

In 2020, American Family Insurance launched a partnership with the Creative Destruction Lab and the University of Wisconsin-Madison that provides support and mentorship to start-up founders in their companies’ early stages.
